Trip To Tasmania
Friday 9 March 2018
It was a delightful morning. We went on the bus for our long trip to Australia. We all said our
farewells to our families. It was about 9 am. The road was full with vehicles. Both classes, 8A and
8B, the DCP students were trying to enjoy the very long trip to the Jakarta airport. It took us more than 6 hours before we could get our relaxing walk. We then relaxed ourselves for about an hour before finally getting our boarding passes. We had our dinner at the airport before finally getting ourselves in our seats. Some of us slept early meanwhile some of us enjoyed the entertainment in the airplane before finally went to sleep.

Saturday 10 March 2018
It was about 7 in the morning. We found ourselves almost arriving in Tullamarine Airport, Melbourne. About half an hour had passed, and we had finally arrived at the airport where we found ourselves together in a group again, which we were later guided by a tall Indonesian man. We then went to take our baggage before finally went to our waiting area when we realized that we had been late for our plane, which made us look like a group of stranded people. Then, a final decision has been made, we were divided into 3 groups of planes, the 1 pm plane, 4 pm, and 7 pm plane. Some of us got lucky and got the 1 pm plane. I was one of them. So we then went to the plane while the rest of our friends waited until their time of flight. It was an astonishing flight. Due to the short distance of flight, the plane went on a low altitude, where we could see the view down the ground level. An hour had passed and we found ourselves in the Hobart airport where we met together again.
We then went on a bus, where in about 30 minutes we arrived at a school, the Southern Christian College. There, we had an introduction in a small room where we were introduced to the house parents. I was lucky. I got a small family consisting of the mother, Lisa, the father, Chris, an 8 year old, Joshua, a 6 year old, Zachary, and Joel, a cute 2 year old boy. We then went on a 5 minute trip to their house, where it was really comfortable. Me and my future roommate, Jason, who was still on the flight, got the chance to pick our own, comfortable rooms. It was about 4 pm. We played a little wii game, which was my first time. an hour had passed and Jason finally showed up and we finally had our delicious. But it was quite annoying having a dog licking your feet while you were eating. We then continued playing until it was time for bed.
Sunday 11 March 2018
It was a beautiful and first day in Tasmania, and also our first day of church in Tasmania. I was so curious about the different culture in the churches in Tasmania. We had our delightful family toast breakfast before getting to go to the new church. I just knew that it was a must to use seat belts, even if we were at the back. It was 9 am and we found ourselves in the St Clements Anglic
an. It was one and a half hour before we found ourselves having a cup of tea and taking pictures in front of the church. We then went to a park where we enjoyed ourselves and had this beautiful hot dog for lunch. An hour had passed and we went to another long bus trip to Mount Wellington where we had 30 minutes to enjoy the breezing scenery from the mountains. After that, we went back to our house parents and finished our day as usual.
Monday 12 March 2018
We just realized that it was a holiday on Mondays for the Southern Christian College students so we went on long bus trips. First up is the Salmon Ponds where we looked at the different types of Salmons. Next trip is to the Russell Falls where we had our lunches and had a relaxing short walk to the Russell Falls where we spent some amount of time taking photos before finally going back to the bus again. The next journey is to the little farm where we watched cows' milk being taken. Also we went to another small farm where we saw sheep shedding a
nd had this wonderful juicy fruit sticks. After that we went back to our house parents where we rested after our long day of travel.
Tuesday 13 March 2018
It was another day of a long trip. But this time it was unique, the University Of Tasmania or UTAS. I got up early and had my usual breakfast before going to the school where I met
up with the others in the bus. We went to UTAS as early as possible, and arrived there at about 8 30 am. We were then divided into 3 groups where we were separated. I was on the 3rd group. First, I went to their F1 garage where I was explained about their car engineering here is UTAS. Not to mention that I saw the different 3D printer types in there. After that, I went up to see the UTAS' presentation by one of the guides, where after that we went home to the house parents and finished our day as usual.
Wednesday 14 March 2018
It was our first day of school at the Southern Christian College for some of us as we were divided into 3 grou
ps. I woke up early as usual and got ready before going to school at 8 30. Just as I said, I was in the 3rd group where we stayed in school and went home at 3 where we finished our day. But today was special, it was my first time tasting tacos where it was good.
But then we just played few times at soccer before we all went to sleep.
Thursday 15 March 2018
I woke up early and had a little soccer game before going to school. It was just another day at the school where I met up with some new kids, Tye, Ben, and Ryan, all 8A students. We listened as they read about the Chronicles Of Narnia, which I, specifically, have known about it. We then went to our house parents where I played trampoline and soccer at their backyard after going back to bed.
Friday 16 March 2018
It was finally a new day. I woke up feeling different as if something really exciting was about to happen that day. I went to the main city where I played a little competition where there were several challenges that had to be done. It was fun. Sooner after that, I went back to Southern Christian College where I played basket ball all day. After that, I watched Paddington at the house parents' house and went back to sleep.
Saturday 17 March 2018
It was not a school day, quite the opposite, it was free day. We all went to the Salamanca Market, a market where we shopped for an hour, bur most likely we went taking pictures though as my friend Jonathan invited me, even though I was not a fan of pictures. After that we went to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, where it was filled with ancient objects and animals, as well as ancient histories about them. After that we went to Bonorong Wildlife Park where we saw se
veral endangered animals. After that, we went to the house parents' house again where we ended the day as usual.
Sunday 18 March 2018
It was a dark Sunday dawn. At about 5 in the morning huge storms filled the whole city. It hasn't stopped until about 8 am. I went ready for our church. This time it was in a small church called Trinity Life Church. This time me and Jason joined the Sunday School filled with kids about our age. Due to the barbecue's cancellation, we set off on a more exciting thing, mini golf. It was my first time and I was so excited. I've never even held a golf stick or a golf ball before. So this was a new experience. We played until the end. I got 2nd place, Jason got 1st place, Zachary got 4th place and Joshua got 3rd place. We then had some french fries before setting course home and ending the day as usual.
Monday 19 March 2018
It was our last day there at Tasmania. We needed to woke up early for our early plane to Melbourne. We met up at the bus and said our farewells to our house parents, thanking them. We then set off on a 1 hour plane to Melbourne and arrived there at about 11 30 where from there we set off to Brighton Beach and later then went to the Shrine Of Remembrance, a giant shrine with fantastic sceneries. After that, several of us had a short night walk around the city and where some of us could stay at the hotel too. After that, we went back to sleep together, me Grant, Jason, Jonathan, and Yoses, all together in a apartment room which was relaxing with beautiful scenery.
Tuesday 20 March 2018
It was a good morning. We enjoyed our breakfast, a giant noodle bowl which was
juicy and best noodle I've ever tasted yet. After that, we went to the University Of Melbourne where we looked at the brochures and the building with details about each part of the building. After that, we went shopping at a mall in there for quite a long time, also having lunch earlier before finally going back to the apartment to end the tiresome day.
Wednesday 21 March 2018
It was a sorrowful day. It was the last day there at Melbourne which I would never forgot about. We went to the airport with bus very early in the morning. We got our boarding passes and took our long flight back to Indonesia. I enjoyed the cuisine and entertainment though, which was very pleasing. After 6 hours of flight, we arrived at the Bali airport, Ngurah Rai Airport, for transit. I waited some time to get on the other plane, which leads to Soekarno Hatta Airport which took only about one and a half hour. After we arrived at Jakarta Airport, we went on a bus which took another 6 hours which leaves us to night time. I was so sleepy that I couldn't do anyth
ing and just slept. After the long journey in bus, we finally made it and went back to our own families and said our farewells. That was the end of the trip.
